Lincrad Aerials NZ Ltd grew out of Lincrad Aerials Limited which was incorporated in 1986.
Lincrad Aerials Limited was founded by television pioneer and signal specialist Noel Roscoe, who played a leading role in the manufacture of television signal translators and repeaters in the 1960s.
Noel's original work in signal reception was highly acclaimed from a technological viewpoint and brought television to many regional residents whose homes were beyond the reach of broadcast signals or who suffered from low signal strength.
Through his pioneering field work it became clear to Noel that many aerials available on the market performed poorly due to design deficiencies.
Television viewers wanted, and deserved, something better.
Responding to customers requests for better picture quality, Noel set about designing a range of aerials suited specifically to New Zealand conditions.
These early aerials worked well, demand grew, and today Lincrad Aerials manufactures over 100 different aerial types.
The original design intelligence of Noel Roscoe today underpins the high quality of all Lincrad aerials.
The name Lincrad is a contraction of Lincoln Radio and Television Ltd, a premier TV and electrical appliances sales and service company which served the South Island for twenty years.
